Budget cuts won’t eliminate school buses in Jefferson City

You won’t see any fewer school buses when Jefferson City kids head back to class this fall. Governor Greitens cut funding for buses statewide.

Jefferson City Superintendent Dr. Larry Linthacum says the $150,000 cut shouldn’t affect getting kids to and from school.

“A sign of the times as far as with the amount of money and revenues from the state level and how it impacts our school district, but they will not see a change on that,” he said.

The Jefferson City Schools spend well over $3 million on transportation costs every school year.
