Columbia council considers United Airlines deal

Flights from Columbia straight to Denver are almost a done deal.

The Columbia City Council on Monday night is expected to approve the agreement with United Airlines, to provide service to Chicago and Colorado’s capital.

The one-year contract includes a $600,000 revenue guarantee, the waiving of $125,000 in fees, and $250,000 in free advertising.

The service would start August 1, 2017.
