High-voltage power, climate change on Columbia council agenda

They’ll talk about climate change during the Columbia City Council meeting Monday night.

Staffers have put together a resolution re-affirming the city’s commitment to reduce pollution.

Mayor Brian Treece suggested the idea. He’s one of dozens of mayors throughout the country wanting to keep up with the goals of the Paris Agreement.

The council will also hear a report on a plan to run new power poles along Ameren’s route on the north side of town.
