Two propositions for the construction of a second Jefferson City High School and upkeep of the current school passed Tuesday night.
Proposition “J” to release $130 million in bonds for the construction of a second high school off Highway 179 south of Jefferson City passed district wide 10,214 votes to 6,165 votes, giving the issue an over 62 percent approval. It needed 57 percent in order to pass.
Proposition “C” to raise the levy of the district 45 cents per $100.00 of assessed valuation also passed 9,882 to 6,477 (60.4 percent to 39.6 percent). “C” only needed a simple majority to pass.
