Columbia and mid-Missouri residents who are seeking a job or a new job are encouraged to attend today’s job fair in downtown Columbia.

The city of Columbia, Boone County and Love Columbia are hosting today’s job fair from 3-6 pm at Love Columbia on East Walnut. Employers representing both the city and county will be on-hand, including Columbia Parks and Recreation, Columbia Police, Columbia Fire, Columbia Public Works and Boone County Joint Communications.

You’re encouraged to bring resumes, and Love Columbia staff will be on-hand to help you complete the application process. Love Columbia provides individual coaching in five specific areas: budgeting, credit building, career/job search, housing search and life purpose.

Love Columbia says one in five Columbia residents live in poverty, adding that many others struggle to make ends meet. The organization’s website says they serve anyone in Columbia who is struggling to provide for their basic needs or improve their life and who wants help to create a path forward. Love Columbia co-founder and executive director Jane Williams joined host Fred Parry a few weeks ago on 939 the Eagle’s “CEO Roundtable.”
