PDMP report shows opioid distribution high in Columbia

The first info is coming in about Columbia’s new prescription drug monitoring program.

The quarterly report covering April through June 2017 says the city gave out more Schedule II-IV drugs than the average of the communities in the Saint Louis County database. That includes drugs like OxyContin, Vicodin, and Ambien.

Opioids were the most frequently prescribed drugs, but that was common for most communities in the database.
