Stumpe elected to new Cole County judge post

Why does Cole County need another Associate Circuit Judge? Brian Stumpe says Division One Associate Circuit Judge Cotton Walker is handling the largest number of cases anywhere in Missouri.

Stumpe this week was elected for the newly-created Cole County Associate Circuit Division Two judgeship.

Stumpe says both a constitutional change and vote by the full Congress could be involved if politicians try to pack the U.S. Supreme Court with additional justices.

“If you’re going to limit the number and say you’re going to cap it at a certain number that would be through the constitution most likely. Because if the Congress would cap the number, that law could be changed quite simply.”
