Mid-Missouri is sending some disaster experts to help with Hurricane Irma.
Missouri Task Force 1 announced one member has been deployed to Puerto Rico, one to the Virgin Islands, and four to Florida.
The group also sent five people and two canines to participate in a FEMA human remains detection unit that will head to Puerto Rico Saturday morning. Missouri Task Force 1 also says it has an 80-member team lined up and equipment loaded in case that group’s help is requested anywhere.
Dozens from the emergency responder group just got back this week to Columbia from Hurricane Harvey relief work.
