Three inmates escape from a north Columbia halfway house.
Boone County authorities say they are looking for Lawrence Johnson, Jamale Marteen, and Tyrone McClain Jr.
Johnson, 35, apparently ran from Reality House on East Prathersville Road Saturday afternoon. He is about 5’7″ and 140 pounds. Marteen and McClain escaped on Monday afternoon. Marteen, 37, is approximately 5’10” and 190 pounds. McClain, 28, is about 5’7″ and 150 pounds.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department transferred the rest of its inmates in Reality House, more than 20 detainees, back to Boone County Jail after the three break-outs.
“The Boone County Jail has successfully utilized the Reality House for several years to house the overflow of many detainees out of convenience of location; however, we are extremely displeased with the circumstances involving the recent escape of three detainees housed at their facility and we will no longer be housing detainees at the Reality House,” BCSD said in a statement on Monday.
