UM System leaders speak up in support of undocumented immigrant students.
The system president and campus chancellors issued a joint statement in light of the president’s announcement that he’s ending Obama-era protections for people who were brought into the country illegally as children.
The UM administrators say they’ll work to help their more than 35 students affected by the act’s repeal. They also said they’d like to see a “fair and compassionate” solution for those students.
