Columbia’s Star Refrigeration began with two service trucks and three employees in 1984.
The company, which is now known as Star Heating and Air Conditioning, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. They now have 34 trucks and 42 employees.
The company was founded by businessman Lee Thompson in 1984 and says its business model remains the same today as it did then: exceptional service at a fair price. Some of the company’s managers and employees have more than 20 years of service. The company’s second-generation owner, David Thompson, says his father always said to take good care of the customer, do your job well and in the end, the sales will come.
Star Heating and Air Conditioning’s headquarters are on Commerce drive. They offer a full range of HVAC services for homes and businesses in the Columbia region.
