Lincoln University to close; Columbia College postpones graduation ceremonies

Students at Lincoln University will be in online classes only, starting Wednesday. School officials say they’re closing campus through April 12th, in response to COVID-19.

Only essential personnel will be allowed to work on campus during the closure, and only Lincoln students can access the university library from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The school’s Board of Curators gave President Jerald Jones Woolfolk temporary authority to respond to the coronavirus Tuesday, shortly before the closing announcement.

Columbia College announced Tuesday it will not hold graduation ceremonies in April and May. It is planning to have extra ceremonies in December for students expected to walk in the spring.
