Dozens of Veterans Day events were held across mid-Missouri on Thursday.
Mizzou hosted a wreath-laying ceremony to honor fallen Mizzou student-veterans. The group also took a photo to support Mizzou veterans and veterans across the country. This annual event dates back to the 1920s.
Mizzou ROTC held events at the veterans memorial near the Boone County Courthouse, from 11:11 am until 11:11 pm.
Sunny fall weather also helped boost turnout at Columbia College’s Veterans Day ceremonies on Thursday.
They included a morning flag-raising ceremony on Bass Commons and a military service tree-lighting ceremony.
