200 attend candlelight vigil in Columbia to remember teen shot to death this weekend

A candlelight vigil to remember the Columbia teen killed in a weekend shooting in Columbia drew more than 200 people Monday night to McKee street park.

Several Columbia Police officers attended the vigil as well.

Our news partner ABC-17 reports the victim was 15-year-old Aubrey Doxley. Her mother says Aubrey was lying in her bed at her home on McKee street when the shots came through the window and killed her.

No arrests have been made in the case … anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.

McKee street is located in northeast Columbia, just west of the Clark lane/Ballenger roundabout. ABC-17 reports there have been numerous shootings in the McKee street area in recent years. In June 2020, a teenager riding his bike was shot out. In September 2019, a man and woman were shot to death. In September 2017, a man was shot and killed.
