A man from Columbia has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for attempted enticement of a minor and advertising child pornography.

There is no parole in the federal system, so 29-year-old Ryan Edward Hine will have to spend all 30 years in prison.

Federal prosecutors say Hine began texting with a 15-year-old female in 2018 and regularly asked her to produce and send him sexually explicit images and videos. Federal prosecutors say Hine traveled across state lines monthly in 2019 to engage in sexual acts with the 15-year-old in Mississippi, which he videotaped. Federal prosecutors say that Hine also posed as a minor female and continued to recruit minor victims to produce child sexual abuse material, which he then advertised for sale to adult buyers on the Internet.

The case was investigated by federal Homeland Security officials in both Kansas City and in New Jersey.
