The missing person search is over and a death investigation is underway after authorities found the body of four-year-old Darnell Gray.
On the sixth day of searching by local, state and federal law enforcement, Gray’s remains were found just before noon Tuesday.
“Now it is an investigation into his death,” Jefferson City Police Lt. David Williams says. “I’m not going to specifically say whether we believe parties involved. We do know that he is deceased, and that it was not by his own accord.
The family and the medical examiner has been notified. Police would not say exactly where the body was found and they said a cause of death has not been determined.
No one has yet been arrested so far in this case.
