Columbia’s city council will hear your testimony tonight on a proposed $640,000 improvement project at Albert-Oakland park on Blue Ridge road.
That’s in northeast Columbia. The council will hold a public hearing on the issue and then is scheduled to vote on the proposal.
Columbia Parks and Recreation proposes renovating two park shelters and building a ten-court pickleball complex. They also plan to replace an aging playground. City officials say the shelters that will be renovated are more than 40 years old and need lighting replacement too. The $640,000 project would be funded by the voter-approved 2021 Columbia park sales tax. Albert-Oakland park was acquired by the city in 1971.
The council meets tonight at 7.
