Missouri’s governor will outline his legislative and budget priorities for the coming year during his State of the State address Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson City.

We will carry the speech live at 3 pm on both 939 the Eagle and on Jefferson City’s Newsradio 950 KWOS. Governor Mike Kehoe (R) will unveil his plan to end or trim the state income tax today. The governor tells the Zimmer News Network that the individual income tax brings about $9-billion a year into state revenue. House Democrats say Republicans want to shift the tax burden to working families.

The governor is also expected to address crime during the address. He has said that public safety anchored his agenda during his first year in office. We’ll also learn today whether the governor’s proposed budget includes a pay increase for Jefferson City’s approximately 14,000 state employees.
