Hundreds of motorcyclists from across mid-Missouri escorted 95 Honor Flight veterans from Kingdom City to Columbia Monday night, as they returned home to a hero’s welcome.
Zimmer Radio’s Trevor Morgan was at the Courtyard by Marriott for the homecoming, and reports 387 motorcyclists were involved. Morgan says five of the 95 veterans were women, and three were Korean War veterans. Each veteran’s name was read out loud.
This was Honor Flight number 62, the first one since 2019 due to the COVID pandemic.
The Central Missouri Honor Flight’s mission is to transport America’s veterans to Washington to visit the memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifice.
There were also bagpipes at last night’s event.
