The Columbia City Council on Monday night was scheduled to vote on emergency approval of federal coronavirus relief money.
Boone County awarded the city $6,183,239.28 in CARES Act cash before the deadline near the end of 2020.
The city says it will use that cash mostly to cover public health and safety costs tied to COVID-19 in 2020:
*Public Health Related Expenditures –Not to exceed $1,918,211.84
*Public Safety Employee Expenditures –Not to exceed $3,082,252.36
*Public Entity PPE and Sanitation Funding –Not to exceed $347,775.08
*Small Business Recovery Grant Program –Not to exceed $835,000.00
