Easter Sunday’s EF-1 tornado destroyed that facility, and damage to the city landfill was catastrophic. The city says there are three options: building a new MRF on the existing structure, building a new one on the current landfill operations center site and building a new MRF on an open gravel lot west of the administration building. The costs for the three scenarios range from $21-million to $26-million. The council will not be voting on the issue tonight.
