Strong winds cause damage, accidents in mid-Mo

Columbia Regional Airport recorded a 56 mph wind gust on Thursday. Those conditions led to some power outages, downed tree limbs, and other damage.

ABC 17 reports a semi blew over on Highway 63 north of Columbia near Clark on Thursday afternoon, but no one was hurt. The covering around the Missouri Capitol building during renovation ripped again.

We had nine straight hours with at least one 40 mph gust on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
