A familiar name in Columbia is new deputy city manager

Columbia’s city manager is praising Matt Unrein, who’s been named as the next deputy city manager.

Mr. Unrein, who has worked in Festus, Arnold, Ferguson and Maryville, joined the city’s leadership team in February as assistant city manager. City manager De’Carlon Seewood says he’s been impressed with Mr. Unrein’s ability to step into his current role with the city and take off running. The deputy city manager helps to provide strategic leadership to several city departments, including Public Works, Parks and Recreation and Utilities.
