Absentee ballots meant for Pettis County voters lost in mail

About 1,200 absentee ballots apparently got lost in the mail in Pettis County.

County clerk Nicholas La Strada said on Wednesday those ballots were given to the U.S. Post Office in Sedalia on Sept. 21 for delivery, but most of them did not reach their destination.

La Strada’s office mailed out another batch of ballots on Sept. 29, on the advice of Missouri Sec. of State Jay Ashcroft. Only one ballot per voter will be accepted for the November election.
