After some tweaks, Fitzwater bill moves out of committee

There’s a slight update to the state lawmaker pushing a constitutional amendment that could put him out of a job.

Representative Travis Fitzwater (R-Holts Summit) wants to cut the number of Missouri House members down from 163.

He originally wanted a drop to 120 in the house, but amended that number to 136 yesterday.

His original proposal would have added six senators, but the amendment will keep the senate at 34 members.

The amended proposal passed out of committee yesterday.

Here is a link to our original story, which includes an interview with Fitzwater before the amendment was tweaked.
