The Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture’s (CCUA) executive director will appear Saturday morning at 7 on 939 the Eagle’s “CEO Roundtable” program.
CCUA executive director Billy Polansky will update listeners on construction of the welcome center at the Agriculture park, and he’ll also discuss the “planting for the pantry” program of growing food for the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri.
The CCUA’s mission is feeding and educating our community. Mr. Polansky will also update listeners on the “food as medicine” and produce prescription programs. The ten-acre Columbia agriculture park is open year-round for you to enjoy. The park includes production fields, a food forest and a greenhouse.
The Veterans United Foundation has recently made a $30,000 donation to the Columbia Farmers Market to ensure that fresh, nutritious food is within reach for our most vulnerable, especially seniors and the disabled.
