Arrest made over Callaway battery thefts

Callaway County authorities say they’ve tracked down the man who’s been stealing some batteries lately.

Chad Laswell, 27, allegedly swiped the batteries from farm and construction equipment in rural areas near Steedman and Portland on Oct. 29 and Nov. 1.

The Williamsburg man is now out on bond. He was arrested Nov. 5.
