Ashland police chief suing city, mayor over suspension

Ashland’s police chief is suing the city and mayor after getting placed on leave.

Lyn Woolford is filing the suit over an incident involving Mayor Gene Rhorer.

The suit says Rhorer suspended Woolford after the chief refused to remove Rhorer’s girlfriend from Rhorer’s home. Woolford instead says he sent officers to “keep the peace,” saying there was no threat of violence.
