Ashland, Woolford reach settlement

Ashland and its former police chief have reached a settlement.

Lyn Woolford received $112,636 in that settlement, according to The Associated Press. Neither side admitted doing anything wrong.

Woolford said in February 2020 he was let go because he would not remove then-Mayor Gene Rhorer’s girlfriend from Rhorer’s house. Rhorer says Woolford was actually let go because of a private personnel matter.

Ashland voters this month elected Woolford to the Southern Boone school board.
