Shots fired in Ashland lead to a 19-year-old under arrest on burglary and property damage charges.
Caleb LaBarbera of Ashland was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly trying to break in to a pawn shop on East Broadway just after midnight.
Ashland Police say a neighboring resident of the Trading Post prevented the burglary by firing a warning shot, then hit LaBarbera’s car twice as the suspect drove away.
LaBarbera hit a car while fleeing the scene and was eventually stopped by police.
The man who prevented the burglary ended up accidentally shooting himself in the foot and was taken to a Columbia hospital with minor injuries.
