You’ve got to hand it to the phone scammers – they certainly are creative.
“Somebody called, claiming to be Chris Koster, the Attorney General, telling the people that they had won some money and that he personally wanted to see that they got the money, and ‘could I get that information so that we can deliver it to you.’ That got the man’s attention,” says Tom Durkin with the AG’s office.
Needless to say, the caller wasn’t Chris Koster. Durkin says a new booklet is available to help you recognize phone scams and prevent ID theft.
