The November general election is about six weeks away. Boone County clerk Brianna Lennon reminds voters that October 9 is the deadline to register to vote:
“So anyone that is brand-new to Missouri or has not registered at all in Missouri for the first time, they’re going to want to register to vote by October 9. That is the deadline. That doesn’t mean that if you move after October 9 around Boone County or around Missouri that you can’t update your address. You absolutely should update your address,” clerk Lennon says.
She also says October 23 is the deadline for you to request a mailed absentee ballot. No-excuse absentee voting begins on October 22 at the Boone County Government Center. Clerk Lennon says you’ll need your photo ID. Residents who lack a photo ID will be able to cast a provisional ballot.
Absentee voting for the November general election begins tomorrow (Tuesday), according to clerk Lennon. She tells 939 the Eagle that you must meet certain criteria to do this:
“And that will be for any voter that might be out-of-town on election day, works in health care or as a first responder or is a poll worker. Or if you’re a voter that has an illness or an injury or (a) disability, you can start voting on September 24 by coming to the Boone County Government Center, or you can request that an absentee ballot be mailed to you,” says Lennon.
The November general election between Vice President Harris and former President Donald Trump is about six weeks away. The November ballot is packed with ballot measures and candidates. All 163 Missouri House seats are up for grabs, as are 17 Missouri Senate seats. Clerk Lennon encourages voters to check the clerk’s website for voting information:
“It’s very helpful if you are trying to register to vote or updating your registration, because you can do that on the website. You can also apply for an absentee ballot using our website if you need one mailed to you,” says Lennon.
Clerk Lennon tells 939 the Eagle that you’ll see a sample ballot on the clerk’s website soon. You can also check the website to see where you will be voting. You can view the clerk’s website here.
