The remnants of Hurricane Irma have still left thousands of people in the southeast without power. Boone Electric Cooperative has seven linemen getting to the Orlando area on Wednesday. Several other local co-ops are helping too. Ten linemen from the City of Columbia have been working in the Orlando area since Monday. Missouri Task Force 1 had 12 members in the Southeast and Caribbean as of Tuesday. MoDot and the state parks service have workers down there too.
“We’re going to go down and see what we can do to help them, along with a lot of other cooperatives, to get the people back up and restore as quickly as possible,” Chris Rohlfing with Boone Electric Cooperative says.
