Columbia Police Department officials and the head of the Columbia Area Career Center (CACC) traveled to Jefferson City on Monday to meet with Governor Parson about recruitment and retention of law enforcement officers. They discussed efforts to improve police recruiting through youth career path training. Police Chief Geoff Jones joined us live on 939 the Eagle’s “Wake Up Columbia” to recap the meeting. Chief Jones tells listeners that the meeting went well, adding that no promises were made. He’s pleased that CACC director Brandon Russell attended, emphasizing the importance of the CACC.
