The Columbia City Council approved the Fiscal Year 2019 budget on Monday night.
Councilman Matt Pitzer says the across-the-board raises in the budget, will cost the city more than $3 million, but may help with retention.
“If you can keep good employees, that’s cheaper than just trying to constantly be on the hamster wheel.”
