State treasurer Vivek Malek (R) is Missouri’s 48th state treasurer. He was born in India and arrived in Missouri in August 2001 with two suitcases and $300 in his pocket. He has returned more than $1.7 million in unclaimed property to Missourians since being sworn-in in early January. He tells 939 the Eagle’s “Wake Up Mid-Missouri” that his approach as treasurer involves three P’s:
