Missouri’s new state treasurer says his first month in office has been a wonderful experience.
Vivek Malek was born in India and arrived in Missouri in 2001 with two suitcases and $300 in his pocket.
“I this office, I want to portray whatever I have learned during these 22 years about my American patriotism, about the opportunities that this country has provided me, how to pay it forward. And those will be the themes that I will be taking forward through the treasurer’s office,” Malek says.
Mr. Malek spoke on 939 the Eagle’s “Wake Up Mid-Missouri.” He tells listeners that he’s focusing on “three P’s” in office.
“Protect Missourians hard-earned tax dollars. And as a fiscal conservative, I will maximize our returns on investments. The second P provide opportunities for all Missourians to reach their God-given potential through multiple initiatives and resources present in the treasurer’s office,” Malek says.
The third P is to promote the promise of America. Malek tells listeners that he’s blessed to have live the American dream.
