An autopsy is scheduled for Friday after an Audrain County Jail inmate was killed Thursday morning.
It happened around 9 a.m.
According to Sheriff Matt Oller, Ryan Wade Blair, 27, is suspected of assaulting Michael Dale Eisenhauer, 42.
Eisenhauer was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. He had been incarcerated since March on charges of assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.
Blair had been behind bars since December on charges of assault of a special victim.
Oller said they are asking the Boone County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the entirety of the incident.
There’s no word on how the man died, but there is an autopsy scheduled for Friday.
