Authorities release name of Columbia fire victim

We know the name now of the man who died in a central Columbia house fire last week.

Michael Degeare was 62 years old.

Investigators say a candle in the living room sparked the fire late last Thursday on Lakeview Avenue near Rangeline and the Business Loop. Crews pulled Degeare out of the home, but could not save his life.
