The popular “Tiger Talk” radio program will have a few special guests Wednesday evening, as the show broadcasts live from Harpo’s in downtown Columbia.
Mike Kelly and Mizzou men’s basketball coach Dennis Gates will be joined by Tiger senior Tamar Bates and by former Tiger star Jon Sundvold. Bates has been named as the Southeastern Conference’s player of the week, after he scored 29 points in Sunday’s 76-67 upset win over #1 Kansas. Bates, who is from Kansas City, Kansas, also scored 15 points in last week’s win over Cal in the ACC/SEC challenge. Mizzou is now 8-1 and has won eight straight games.
Jon Sundvold, who grew up in the Kansas City suburb of Blue Springs, is one of only two Mizzou players to play on four straight Big 8 conference championship teams. He was an All-American in 1983.
