A cross-town Columbia football game gets canceled due to coronavirus concerns.
Battle High School announced Thursday its game against Hickman won’t happen Friday after someone in the football program tested positive for COVID-19.

Hickman is reportedly looking for an alternate opponent to host this weekend.
Battle is also off next Friday. They were originally scheduled to play Crete-Monee from Illinois, which has postponed high school football until the spring. The Spartans’ next scheduled game is Oct. 2 against Smith-Cotton.
