Bear sightings reported in Ashland

At least one bear has made its way to Ashland.

Police chief Gabe Edwards said they had a couple of reported sightings in the early morning Thursday.

“Folks have security cameras around their homes that captured images of at least [one] bear, and then one of our officers that works the midnight shift spotted one behind a local business on the east side of Ashland,” said Edwards.

Edwards said on Wake Up Columbia said he wasn’t sure if it was the same bear spotted in southern Boone County and near Jefferson City in the last few weeks.
