The phone bank at Zimmer Radio’s 16th annual Missouri Credit Union Miracles for Kids Radiothon has been very active today, on this final day of the two-day event.
Radiothon continues live until 6 pm this evening on 939 the Eagle in Columbia, NewsRadio 950 KWOS in Jefferson City, Y-107 (FM 106.9) and Clear-99 (FM 99.3).
All of the money stays local in mid-Missouri and benefits the children. You can also donate online, and Veterans United Home Loans is matching all online donations.
MU Health Care chief executive officer Jonathan Curtright joined us live on the Eagle this morning, and noted that each dollar donated makes a difference. He notes money is used for things ranging from diapers to music therapy to having pets at MU Children’s Hospital. The hospital goes through 16,000 diapers each year.
Money donated is also used for distraction items such as crayons, craft supplies and toys.
As we were live on-air this morning, several listeners called in $1,000, $500 and $100 donations. Callers were from Columbia, Jefferson City and Ashland, as well as smaller towns like Centralia, Tipton, Argyle, Fulton and Russellville.
Many others called in donations ranging from $1 to $20. Every bit helps make a difference.
