Blair Oaks could add new high school

Do you have kids who go to the Blair Oaks schools in Wardsville? Be ready to vote on a bond issue in April to build a new high school.

Superintendent Dr. Jim Jones says they’re ready to shuffle kids among the existing buildings.

“Our elementary school would go from being Kindergarten to 4th grade to Kindergarten to 2nd; our middle school currently has grades 5 through 8.  It would be 3 through 5; our current high school would be grades 6 through 8, and then our high school kids would move over to the new facility.”

Jones says the April ballot will include the $14 million bond issue, an operating levy increase and some school board seats.
