Blunt questions parts of Biden infrastructure plan

The Associated Press reports President Biden has spent more time appealing directly to the people in GOP-leaning parts of the country, instead of the politicians themselves, on infrastructure. He is still pushing a $2 trillion-plus package.

“Obviously, Democrats have figured out that infrastructure is something we need, and something that’s popular,” Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) said on Fox News Sunday. “They’re trying to take 70% of this bill and call it infrastructure in a new way than we’ve ever talked about infrastructure before.”

Blunt says there’s a chance at an easy bipartisan victory if the plan focused on what many actually consider infrastructure.

“It would be an easy victory if we’d go back and look at roads and bridges and ports and airports, and maybe even underground water systems and broadband.”
