Boone County is zeroing in on approval of its first master plan since 1996. A new master plan for growth and development in Boone County in entering its final stages for approval. The county’s planning and zoning commission will hold three public hearings in the upcoming weeks. They are all in the evening. The first is Feb. 25 in Centralia. The next one is March 4 in Ashland and the final one is March 20 at the Boone County Government Center in Columbia. After these hearings, the Boone County commissioners will have a final public hearing before implementing the new master plan. The date for that hearing has yet to be determined.
