Boone, Cole counties report COVID-19 deaths

Both Boone and Cole counties reported a COVID-19 death Tuesday.

Health officials in Boone said Tuesday the patient was older than 80. Boone has 120 total deaths from the illness, and Cole has 127.

There were 85 new coronavirus cases in Boone Tuesday. Active cases went up again, to 849. Hospitalizations rose, to 108. Hospitals in Boone are still operating at “yellow” status, meaning resources are strained and some surgeries are being delayed. Another 41 cases were added in Cole County.
