The two Democrat incumbents on the Boone County Commission held off challengers in Tuesday’s election. North District Commissioner Janet Thompson of Columbia won a fourth term on the county commission with 52% of the vote over Republican Cheri Toalson Reisch of Hallsville. In the south district Justin Aldred of Columbia won his first re-election with 55% of the vote over Republican Sam Turner of Ashland. The terms are for four years. They begin Jan. 1.
In unofficial results, Thompson received 19,731 votes to Toalson Reisch’s 18,002. Aldred received 25,812 votes to Turner’s 20,733.
