Boone County purchased a building last week on 7th Street in downtown Columbia that is currently occupied by the Holder Susan Slusher law firm. The county now owns all the property in that block west of the county building between 6th and 7th streets, Ash and Walnut. They paid $1.07 million cash for the building. Presiding Commissioner Kip Kendrick tells CoMoBUZ.com that the county will move its Community Services Department into the building short-term, while it completes long-term planning on its future space need.
