Boone County Commission authorizes refugee resettlement consent

Boone County officials plan to allow refugees to resettle in the county.

They gave consent in a letter Thursday, and sent it to Sec. of State Mike Pompeo.

On Tuesday, Governor Parson announced he will comply with the executive order signed by President Trump in September. It gives states and local governments the ability to admit refugees.

Parson said in his announcement that 18,000 refugees from 45 different countries have resettled in Missouri since 2002.
